OUR BACKGROUND

In 2009, our team of engineers, together since 2003, merged to create Dufoe Consulting Engineers. From the beginning, our team has focused on complex and expansive projects.

We are proud of our ability to provide quality and engaged engineering, allowing us to maintain strong and lasting relationships with our clientele. We focus on detail, without losing sight of the big picture.

Dufoe Consulting Engineers emerged from an in-house engineering department within an architectural firm in 2009. From inception, the firm has primarily focused on healthcare and educational projects. As the economic climate continues to evolve, the firm’s focus has adjusted to encompass commercial, private, industrial and process sectors.

Principals

Jeffrey A. Dufoe, P.E. – President

Jeff has been practicing professional mechanical consulting engineering since 1993. He has served as a responsible Project Engineer/Manager on a variety of different project types including retail, institutional, healthcare, commercial, manufacturing, and educational. In addition to design experience, his experience includes cost estimating, life safety, and energy standards and analysis.

Jeff is actively engaged in day to day operations and interface with our clients. Jeff has managed some of our largest projects including the Qualcomm P Plant Cogeneration Expansion project which replaced a majority of plant piping and upgraded plant cooling towers, Sharp Healthcare Seismic Retrofit – Central and North Tower Seismic Upgrades, and the Banner Thunderbird Campus Expansion.

While the country is focused on environmentally friendly systems, it has been a personal drive for Jeff throughout his career to provide healthy indoor built environments, while maintaining focus on the economic impacts of building and utility systems.

Jeff serves the company as day to day operations manager, supports the company’s marketing efforts, and works closely with our teams on maintaining existing client relationships. Jeff is actively engaged in project management training, staff training and mentoring.

Christopher J. McDaniel, P.E. – Vice President

Chris has been working with the company since he interned while attending the University of California, San Diego. Chris has developed into an exceptional leader and has continuously demonstrated leadership in client relations and with internal management of engineering teams. Chris joined ownership in the company in 2016.

Chris has been actively involved as a Project Manager in some of our largest projects and clients ranging from the multi year expansion at Banner Thunderbird, engineering design and design lead on Qualcomm’s P Plant Cogeneration Expansion project, and UCSD’s Main Campus Plant Expansion. His expertise in systems design ranges from large custom air handling unit design, hydronic systems and analysis, steam systems and all facets of central plant design including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps and cogeneration.

Chris is extremely well versed and familiar with AIA, IBC, CMC, CBC, CGC, NFPA, OSHPD and Title 24 compliance codes. Chris assists our teams with code applications, day to day operations of managing project delivery and actively engaged in building and managing our BIM and Revit repertoire insuring project deliverables consistently meet high standards.
